Boss praises Albion after 'comfortable' Stoke win

Slaven Bilic saw his side climb back to the top of the Championship after goals in each half from Matty Phillips and Hal Robson-Kanu were enough to see off a poor Stoke side.

Phillips opened the scoring inside the first ten minutes. After Grady Diagana had been fouled in the area, Hal Robson-Kanu calmly stepped up to send Albion back into pole position.

"We started brilliantly and ended quite comfortably, but it was not like that until we scored the second goal," he said.

"You can't be happy with just controlling the game when you're only one up. So, in that respect, we're not happy."

Albion were backed by a sell-out away following who had made the journey up the M6 on a Monday night.

And Bilic says the noisy away end inspired his players on another cold night in Staffordshire.

"Since day one the fans have been different class, in numbers and in sound," he added.

“You really feel it, and I can hear it the whole time. The players too are saying the same.

“They are brilliant and they are one of the biggest reasons we are playing so good away from home this season. They are top.”
