WBA-MAD Player Ratings: Derby 3 Albion 1

Albion ended their regular league campaign with defeat going down 3-1 at Derby.

Here's our ratings as Albion bowed out with defeat.

Sam Johnstone: Could do nothing about Derby's goals and was unfortunate to concede the second. Made a number of long range saves but was given very little protection by those in front of him. 6/10

Mason Holgate: Seems to be a different player under Shan than he was more. Again failed to make the right decision going forward and his crossing always seemed to hit the first man. 5/10

Ahmed Hegazi: The only Albion defender who came out of the game with any credit. Looked assured on the ball and showed excellent skill in the build up to Albion's equaliser. 6/10

Kyle Bartley: Albion's captain had another horror show in front of the TV cameras. Was completely unaware of Waghorn for the first, lost his man for the second and then dived in to conceed the dubious penalty for the first. Awful. 4/10

Craig Dawson: Just as bad as Bartley. Seemed to be happy to pass on responsibility to others as he failed to track his man for the first, needlessly went to ground for the second and let Lawrence breeze past him for the third. 4/10

Kieran Gibbs: Showed real arrogance and a serious lack of disrespect towards the club as the clock ticked down and end up walking when others were running past him. Not the attitude you need going into the play offs. 3/10

Rekeem Harper: A passenger for much of the match but wasn't helped being constantly out numbered by Derby's midfield. Made a couple of decent tackles tracking back but looked a like a boy playing a man's game. 5/10

Stefan Johansen: Tried his best to compete but was another who was chasing shadows. Took his goal well and tried to rally Albion but was subbed soon after his goal. 6/10

Jacob Murphy: A total waste of space. Even the Tinman has a bigger heart than Murphy. Constantly gave the ball away, backed out of tackles and then wasted a glorious chance to give Albion the lead. Another who was awful. 4/10

Jay Rodriguez: Was wasted again out on the left. Another totally ineffective performance pushed out wide. Failed to track back for Derby's first and then struggled to get into any real goalscoring opportunities. 6/10

Dwight Gayle: Worked hard up top alone but then uncharacteristically blasted a shot wide when it seemed easier to score. Another who looked like he had one eye on the play offs after the break. 6/10

SUBS

Matt Phillips: Came on with 30 minutes left but was unable to turn the game around in Albion's favour. Has been nursed back to fitness in recent weeks and should be an automatic starter against Villa next week. 6/10

Sam Field: Entered with the game out of reach for Albion and tried his best to prevent Derby scoring a fourth. 5/10

Hal Robson-Kanu: What an absolute idiot. Needlessly kicked out with seconds remaining and now misses the final games of the season. Should receive a maximum fine for his petulance. 1/10.
