Darren Moore has been appointed as Alan Pardew's succesor as Head Coach of West Bromwich Albion.

Here we take a closer look about the man known to Baggies fans across the country as 'Big Dave'.

1. Darren Mark Moore was brought up under the shadow of The Hawthorns floodlights. He attended Holyhead School, on the adjoining road to the Birmingham Road.

2. Moore has a 50% win rate when he was in caretaker charge of Albion last season. He guided Albion to wins over Manchester United, Newcastle and Tottenham Hotspur in his six games in charge.

3. The 44-year-old is the only ever manager in Premier League history to be awarded the league's manager of the month award and to be relegated on the same day.

4. The defender played more games for Albion (104) than he did for any other club. Moore scored six goals for the Baggies, including the first in a 2-0 win as Albion won promotion to the Premier League for the first time.

5. Moore has raised thousands of pounds for charity. Back in 2005 when he was Albion captain, he walked the Great Wall of China to help raise funds for the charity he helped establish, Faith and Football.
