Albion twice came from behind to take the local bragging rights over neighbours Birmingham City on a thrilling Friday night at The Hawthorns.

The Baggies fell behind in the 7th minute when Gary Gardner had a free header in the penalty area to nod home.

After a poor first half from Albion, the Baggies were level minutes into the second half. Dwight Gayle got the slightest of touches to Chris Brunt's in-swinging free kick to glance home.

But back came Blues from another corner when Lukas Jutkiewicz headed home from close range with Albion all at sea.

Good work from Connor Townsend saw the defender tripped inside the area with Jay Rodriguez stepping up to bring the scores level. Jake Livermore's thunder-bolt volley in the 74th minute sent The Hawthorns wild as the Baggies took the lead for the first time on the night.

Blues pushed forward for an equaliser but Albion hung on to earn caretaker James Shan his third consecutive victory.
