Haber (R) playing for CanadaAlbion are closing in on their second signing of the January transfer window after the club agreed a deal with Vancouver Whitecaps for the signing of Marcus Haber for an undisclosed fee.

The 20-year-old arrived for a four day training spell with the Baggies back in November in which he impressed Roberto Di Matteo.  The pacy 6ft. 3in striker capped a highly successful first season in the United Soccer Leagues First Division by being named the USL-1 Rookie-of-the-Year as well as the Whitecaps Newcomer-of-the-Year and Fan Favourite after scoring eight and creating a further four goals.

The striker is flying to England tonight to finalise the move, subject to the player agreeing terms and passing a medical.  Haber, who formerly played for FC Groningen in Holland before joining the Whitecaps, has featured for Canada Under-17 and Under-20 levels and travelled to the Beijing Olympics as member of his country’s Under-23 squad.
