Albion look set for their second signing of the summer after agreeing a deal with Hull City that could eventually reach £8m for defender James Chester.

The former Manchester United defender has left the Tiger’s pre-season camp in Austria and is now expected to sign a deal before the end of the week.

Chester, who has played 156 games for Hull, was the standout performer in the side that was relegated from the Premier League.

The 26-year-old has won 6 international caps for Wales, despite being born in Warrington, England.

Before joining City, Chester featured for Carlise United, Plymouth Argyle and Peterborough United on loan.
