Albion contact Campbell

Albion have made a tentative enquiry about the possibility of signing ex-England international Sol Campbell.  The former Tottenham, Arsenal and Portsmouth defender is a free agent after walking out on Notts County only weeks after signing a lucrative five-year deal with the world’s oldest club.

Campbell, who has 73 international caps and one goal to his name, is still registered with the East Midlands club and would be unable to sign for any club until January – although he’s reportedly training back with Arsenal.

It’s believed that Campbell’s agent, Sky Andrew, has already spoken to club officials about a move to The Hawthorns although wage demands may be a stumbling block.
