Albion get Clement boost

Albion have been given a massive boost with the news that Neil Clement is set to increase his recovery from another serious knee injury and start full training sometime next week.  The Baggies’ longest serving has been injured for a year after a articular cartilage injury to his right knee threatened to end his career for a second time

Clement, who returned to play a vital cameo at the end of the Championship winning season, previously suffered two separate injuries to his left knee and has played only 34 times in three seasons.  Now, after another 12 months of rehabilitation, Clem’s return is a welcome one to Roberto Di Matteo’s new look squad which are short of defensive options.

“Neil Clement is doing some shorter stuff now and he might be training with us next week if everything goes to plan,” Di Matteo revealed.

However, the news is not so good for James Morrison as his troublesome heel continues to pose problems for the midfielder.

“James Morrison is still out and I can't give a date on when he might be back,” he continued.

"I don't think anyone thought his injury would keep him out for so long.

"It's not good news for the player or us because he's an important player for us."
