Tony Pulis has had his contract terminated as head coach of West Bromwich Albion.

The 59-year-old has been removed after winning only 2 of his last 22 Premier League games.

Pulis leaves Albion after only winning two league games all season and only one point above the relegation zone.

Albion chairman John Williams said the decision to remove Pulis had been taken in the best interests of the club.

"We are in a results business and over the back end of last season and this season to date, ours have been very disappointing," he said in an official statement.

"We would like to place on record our appreciation of Tony's contribution and hard work during a period of transition for the Club which included a change of ownership. We wish him well in his future endeavours."

Pulis' assistant - and former Baggies boss - Gary Megson has now been placed in charge of first team affairs until further notice.
