Albion captain Darren Fletcher is expected to walk out of The Hawthorns on a free transfer.

The former Manchester United midfielder has reportedly agreed a two-year contract to join Stoke City when his contract ends later this month.

Fletcher was dropped earlier this season by Tony Pulis after refusing to sign a new contract at The Hawthorns.

The 33-year-old had automatically triggered a contract extenstion back in January after reaching a performance milestone.

But Fletcher refuse to sign the contract extension and the club has been in negotiations with his representives since.

Albion were confident a deal would be agreed for Fletcher but is seems the Scot has now agreed a two-year contract with the Potters.
