Albion target Sako moves to Palace

Albion target Bakary Sako has moved to Crystal Palace after the Baggies decided against offering the former Wolves midfielder a contract.

Sako had a medical last week at The Hawthorns and looked likely to join the Baggies on a free transfer.

But Baggies boss Tony Pulis has decided to pursue other alternatives to boost Albion’s forward line. Albion have already had bids refused for QPR’s Matt Phillips and Nottingham Forest’s Michail Antonio.

The Mali international has signed a three-year deal at Selhurst Park.

Meanwhile, Albion’s pursuit of a new goalkeeper looks set to continue. Tony Pulis is keen to bring in another recognised stopper with Ben Forster not expected to return from injury until October.

Palace’s Wayne Hennersey was thought to be a target but Albion now looked to have turned their attentions to Cardiff’s David Marshall. The Bluebirds rate the Scotland international at around £5m.
