Baggies bid for Bougherra

Albion have reportedly entered the race to sign Algerian international defender Madjid Bougherra from Charlton Athletic. The 25-year-old has attracted interest from Real Betis with Middlesbrough, Sunderland and Glasgow Rangers all pondering bids for the former Crewe and Sheffield Wednesday man.
Bougherra joined the Addicks from Wednesday 18-months ago with Charlton aiming to recoup the majority of the £2.5 million pound they paid.
The Baggies are also reportedly back in the race to sign Abdoulaye Meite after having a bid of £1 million pound turned down by Bolton. It's now believed Albion will double their initial offer.
