Albion have reportedly increased their bid for Wigan winger Callum McManaman after Silvestre Varela and Sebastian Blanco left on loan.

The Baggies were rebuffed by Wigan when their initial bid of £3m for the 23-year-old was rejected by the struggling Championship side.

An improved offer was reportedly submitted last night in the region of £4.5m for the pacy winger.

Albion’s improved offer came after the news that summer signings Varela and Blanco were to cut short their Hawthorns stay after only six months.

Portugal international Varela is set to join Parma on loan with Blanco heading back to Argentina to sign for San Lorenzo.
