Chris Brunt is hoping to hit double figures in the goal scoring charts this season after firing his sixth goal of the campaign against his former club Sheffield Wednesday.  The winger has become an ever increasing threat in front of goal and is now hoping to beat his best ever total in front of goal this season.

The former Wednesday man notched ten goals in his last season at Hillsborough before his £3 million switch to The Hawthorns three seasons ago and is now only two behind his tally from last term after only 13 appearances.

"I got ten in my last season at Sheffield Wednesday so it would be nice to hit double figures and I'm happy having six now," said Albion’s No.11.

"We create enough chances for maybe six or seven players to get into double figures so we will see what happens.

"It's nice to keep scoring but obviously it's against Sheffield Wednesday, a club I have a lot of time for and a lot of respect for.

"They gave me my chance and the fans were great with me on Saturday.

"I owe them a lot.

"Without Sheffield Wednesday I wouldn't have got a chance to move to West Brom and play in the Premier League.

"I owe them a lot, especially Brian Laws."

Brunt was quick to praise the attacking threats of his teammates at Hillsborough – especially the Baggies’ new found counter-attacking prowess which has resulted in a number of quick-fire goals.

"The game was over when I scored and we've scored a lot of goals on the counter attack this year,” Brunt said.

"We're pretty incisive.

"We create a lot of chances and we're effective on the break.

"Last season we couldn't do that and, although it's a different league, its working well for us.

"People will say Sheffield Wednesday played badly but they only played badly because of how we played against them and pressed them.

"The performance was fairly comprehensive.

"I enjoyed going back and the three points were good as well.

"It was good to get the clean-sheet as well, we defended really well - I don't think Scotty had much to do.

"It must be fairly scary for defences watching us in the Championship at the minute."
