Albion have confirmed they will not be pursuing Bostjan Cesar's stay at The Hawthorns after the Slovenian international returned to his home club, Marseille. The defender joined the Baggies last August on a season-long-loan however had to wait until October for his first league start.

In total Cesar made 24 appearances, scoring once, for Albion with Tony Mowbray thanking the Slovenian for his efforts: "Bostjan's a good man.

"He's a good professional who worked extremely hard last season.

"I just feel we should be looking down other avenues now.

"He played a very important part in accumulating the number of points we did and we wish him all the best.

"He played some very, very solid games for us and played an integral part in our promotion but these are the decisions I've got to make."
