Cool Carson staying professional

Albion captain Scott Carson has insisted he’ll be staying as professional as possible as the Baggies aim to clinch automatic promotion at Doncaster on Saturday (KO3pm).

Second placed Albion require only two points to secure an immediate return to the Premier League but a draw will effectively see them promoted courtesy of a superior goal difference.

Carson played a major part in helping the Baggies take a step closer to a top-flight return staring in the 1-1 draw against Watford last weekend.  And with Albion requiring only two points from the remaining four games, the skipper has revealed how Roberto Di Matteo is keeping everybody’s feet on the ground until the job is done.

"We'd like to wrap it up now," Carson admitted.

"But as long as the mathematics state we're not up, we'll not take anything for granted.

"We'll just keep applying ourselves the way we have been over the past 42 games.

"If we do that, there shouldn't be any problems.

"But football is a funny game, sometimes.

"Forest will keep putting pressure on us and we've just got to keep our heads down and pick up the points we need.

"The head coach and staff have been trying to keep our feet on the floor.

"Sometimes, players can think they're home and dry so Easter Monday was probably a good reality check for us that teams aren't going to lie down for us."
