Luke Daniels has signed a new two-year contract, plus a further year in the club’s favour, after impressing new head coach Roberto Di Matteo before joining League One outfit, Tranmere Rovers.  The former Manchester United trainee joined The Hawthorns back in May 2007 after impressing on trial and has enjoyed loan spells at Motherwell and Shrewsbury last season.

The 6’4” stopper was a major factor in Shrewsbury reaching the Play-Off Final at Wembley with the 21-year-old saving three penalties in the semi-final second-leg against Bury and keeping 14 clean sheets in 38 appearances for Town.

“I'm pleased to be able to bring a young goalkeeper of Luke's quality to Tranmere,” new Rovers boss John Barnes said.

"He had a very impressive season at Shrewsbury and has a good future ahead of him. I'd like to thank West Brom manager Roberto Di Matteo for allowing Luke to join us on loan.”
