Di Matteo dealing with expectation

By Site Editor
Friday, 20th November 2009
Boss underlines tough nature of Championship

Albion boss Roberto Di Matteo is quickly coming to terms with the expectation placed on his side this season.  The Baggies find themselves only two points behind leaders Newcastle as they go into Saturday’s game against high-flying Bristol City (KO 3pm) with Di Matteo believing certain critics believe Albion should win every game this term.

The Baggies have so far lost only three games this season with Di Matteo hoping to maintain that record against Gary Johnson’s side on Saturday – however is well aware of the threat they possess.

“The expectations are that we should win every game," said the Italian.

"If we lose one then people don't expect it.

"Maybe the only game we are expected to lose is at Newcastle - where if we lose that people will say 'it's okay because it's Newcastle away'.

"We have to be realistic.

"It's a tough league and that shows with the table.

"It will be a very, very difficult game.

"I have a high regard for this team.

"The manager has done well there."
