Roberto Di Matteo admitted his delight after ending Leicester’s six game unbeaten run at The Walkers Stadium.  Graham Dorrans opened the scoring for the Baggies with a free-kick which bobbled in the 37th minute to give Albion a deserved lead.  The advantage was doubled three minutes later when Leicester failed to close down Gonzalo Jara who fired in a 30-yard shot which left Chris Weale with no chance in the Foxes’ goal.

After the break Albion had chances to score a third with Chris Brunt and Graham Dorrans coming close to his second of the game; Luke Moore also hit the bar with a lobbed effort.  Despite the visitor’s chances it was Leicester who scored deep into stoppage time when Scott Carson was unable to hold onto Paul Gallagher’s free-kick with Bruno Berner glad fully tapping home a consolation.

"I'm very pleased with today's performance - it was very convincing," said Di Matteo.

"We looked strong in every department and deserved the victory.

"We defended and attacked well and also moved the ball around well.

"We controlled the game the majority of the time and didn't give them any space.

"It was a good all-round team performance.

"2-0 is always a comfortable scoreline unless you concede.

"If the opposition get one back, even in the last seconds of the game, it's always a bit jittery.

"But I thought we should have added a third goal well before then to put the game to bed.

"We certainly had the chances to.

"Leicester are always dangerous when they put the ball into the box - and especially when Steve Howard comes on.

"But we kept Matt Fryatt and Martyn Waghorn quiet today.

"It was a good performance but it was a shame we couldn't have kept a third clean sheet in a row.

"However, we are getting better defensively and, at the end of the day, it's all about the three points."
