Roberto Di Matteo chose to ignore the heartbreaking equaliser Albion conceded with just seconds to go at Pride Park and focus on another point gained.  Derby looked set to end the Baggies’ six game unbeaten streak after Paul Dickov’s deflected effort minutes before half-time looked to have given the host three points.

However Simon Cox’s bundled reply eight minutes from time started a dramatic end to a thrilling Midlands derby.  Graham Dorrans mazy run and unstoppable shot past Stephten Bywater in the 92nd minute seemed to have given Albion an unexpected win however DJ Campbell pegged the Baggies back with virtually the last kick of the game.

"Derby's equaliser probably did take the smile off my face," the Baggies boss admitted.

"It's disappointing because we were so close to getting all three points.

"But if I reflect over the whole game, it was a deserved draw for Derby.

"We knew they earn most of their points at home - 19 of their 21 have come here.

"We also knew we were going to be in for a tough afternoon and you saw today exactly why.

"They are a good side at home and make it difficult.

"They fight hard and have 30,000 fans behind them, so it's not easy.

"It turned out to be a really exciting game. Both teams fought very hard.

"We also showed real character to come from behind in difficult circumstances and take the lead."
