Dorrans close to comeback

Crocked midfielder Graham Dorrans hopes to return to full training in the next few days as the Premier League's surprise package sets up his comeback from a broken metatarsal which ended his season prematurely.

The former Livingston man made a big impact at The Hawthorns after having to wait until December to make his Albion debut. In fact the Baggies were unbeaten for the first six league games of his Throstles career before being substituted in the 4-2 defeat against Manchester City.

Now Dorrans is hoping to take over where he left off at Albion and impress new Head Coach, Roberto Di Matteo, in the process.

"I'm still recovering from my injury but hopefully at the end of this week, or the start of next, I can resume training properly," the 22-year-old said.

"Getting the injury was disappointing as I'd gotten into the team.

"But, with the close season looming, at least it gave me six weeks off to recover.

"I'm at a stage now where I can run fine. It's just the twisting and turning that's the problem.

"But I just want to get fully fit now and get back on the ladder.

"First and foremost, I want to get back into the first team and playing regularly."
