Graham Dorrans has signed a new and improved contract committing himself to the Baggies for at least the next three-and-a-half years.  The Scottish international has been involved in various newspaper speculation recently linking him to Midlands’ rivals Birmingham City and Aston Villa.  However rumours regarding Dorrans’ future have today been answered with the midfielder rewarded for a number of eye-catching performances in Albion’s engine room.

The 22-year-old has become a regular in Roberto Di Matteo’s staring XI this season after making his league debut for the Baggies against West Ham back in March.  The midfielder initially joined on trial back in January 2008 and signed a permanent deal the following July for a bargain £150,000.

Dorrans was somewhat of a revelation in the Premier League last season with Albion unbeaten when he played in his first few games.  However a broken foot against Sunderland ruled the talented youngster out for the rest of the season.

The former Livingston man returned in similar form this season and is now Albion’s joint top-scorer with eight goals next his name.

"I've really enjoyed the season so far and I'm glad it's all sorted now so I can concentrate on playing,” said the midfielder who has set an immediate return to the Premier League.

"I came down from Scotland and got my chance here.

"I've broken into the team and managed to play most of the games this season.

"I now just want to keep playing and hopefully get the club back up."
