Kieran Gibbs was happy to get a clean sheet on his full league debut for the Baggies.

The £5m summer signing almost scored on his first start but saw his goalboound volley blocked on the line.

But it was the clean sheet which the former Arsenal man was more pleased with.

“It was a great atmosphere and I got a great reception from the fans,” said the 27-year-old.

“It was a proud moment for me.

“Obviously I tired a bit because I haven’t played really since last season.

“I’m just getting going and getting in my stride.

“I felt good and we were disappointed not to get the win in the end.

“I’m happy with a clean sheet on my debut.”
