Greening and Olsson up for Toon task

Jonathan Greening and Jonas Olsson have fired the battle-cry ahead of Albion's long trip north to Newcastle. The Baggies take on the Toon at St. James Park on the back of two consecutive defeats hoping to get back to winning ways after conceding seven goals in just 180 minutes.

"Our heads were down on Saturday but we need to focus on tomorrow's game and get back on track," giant Swede defender Olsson admitted.

"It's not nice as a defender to concede seven goals in two games and lose three goals at home in one game.

"The manager was not happy and everyone was disappointed.

"When you lose like that all you want to do is get back at it as soon as possible and try to turn it around.

"We just need to focus on Newcastle.

"They are also a team under pressure so it's going to be an important game for both clubs."

Skipper Greening believes although the Baggies are traveling on the back of the disappointing Hull defeat the team spirit in the camp will help their mini-slump.

The former Middlesbrough and Manchester United man admitted that all was not rosy in the home dressing room after Saturday's 3-0 defeat but aims to distance the Baggies further from the 19th place Magpies.

"Everyone was dejected in the changing room on Saturday but we need to pull together," Greening added.

"We have a great team spirit so we will stick together, roll our sleeves up and give it a right go at Newcastle.

"They're struggling at the moment so if we put on a good performance we've got every chance of getting a positive result.

"This is when team spirit comes into its own.

"Everybody wants to fight for each other and we have to show that - starting from tomorrow.

"We've got two games this week and we've got to try to get as many points as possible."

He continued: "If we play well we could create a gap between us and the bottom three.

"Our main aim is to stay in the Premier League so, although it's early days, the bigger the gap we create between us and the teams down there the better.

"It's been well documented Newcastle are in a bit of turmoil but they still have world class players throughout the team.

"We'll need to be on top of our game to get a good result.

"We will be working hard in training today to put things right."
