Hoddle: Baggies Weren't For Me

Hoddle was on the Baggies board's shortlist as replacement for Gary Megson but, according to The People newspaper, after talks with the Albion board he told them that he wasn't interested in the vacant managers post at The Hawthorns.

"I had only preliminary negotiations with West Brom but after three or four days I could see that we were not really right for each other.

"We did not discuss finances or staff so reports to the contrary are well wide of the mark.

"As far as I know Albion are planning to announce their new manager on Monday but I had made up my mind very quickly that this one was not for me."
