Midfield maestro Zoltan Gera has been given an extended summer break to recover from his exploits last season.
Bryan Robson has told the Hungarian to report back for pre-season training nine days after the rest of the squad.
Gera played in all but one the Baggies 38 Premiership games in his debut season in England's top flight.
Alongside cup and international matches the 26-year-old had a hectic campaign prompting Robson to give the player extra time to rest ahead of another long season.
This rules Gera out of the first warm up games at AFC Telford and Cheltenham.
Japanese star Junichi Inamoto has also been given a similar extended break after playing for his country in the Confederations Cup.
