Alan Irvine revealed the disappointment in the Albion dressing room after last night’s 2-2 draw with Manchester United.

Albion’s fast start against United was rewarded when Stephane Sessegnon spectacularly curled home his first goal of the season in the ninth minute.

United hit back almost immediately after the break when Marouane Fellaini also netted his first goal of the campaign.

Back came Albion and Saido Berahino looked to have earned the Baggies all three points when he expertly curled the ball around David De Gea in the 66th minute.

But with only three minutes remaining, Daley Blind also netted his first strike for United when he curled home from the edge of the area to break Albion hearts.

“We’re all bitterly disappointed,” Irvine admitted. “We were so close to getting a great result against a top team.

“For us not to get the three points feels really tough at this moment. The players were terrific all the way through.

“They worked really hard when we didn’t have the ball and at times we passed the ball extremely well.

“The two goals we got were great goals. We led twice and to be honest I felt quite comfortable on both occasions. We spoke aboutmaking changes but I didn’t feel we had to. I felt we were okay.”
