New Albion defender Gonzalo Jara has revealed his dream is about to come true after signing for the Baggies.

Like most of his fellow international team-mates, Jara has sealed a move to European football with the 23-year-old full of excitement over the switch from Colo Colo.

The versatile defender could make his Albion debut next weekend against Plymouth Argyll (KO 3pm) and admitted he’s realising the prospect of playing in England after watching the Baggies battle it out last season.

"It is a dream for me to play in England,” said Jara.

"From watching English football on TV you can see it is the best football in the world.

"I watched a few of West Brom's games in the Premier League last season as soon as I knew they were interested in me.

"The football is faster, more dynamic and physical here but I have played so many times against European teams I'm not afraid.

"It's really important for me to be playing here because the rest of the Chile XI are playing in Europe.

"I will give all my effort to help West Brom get back to the Premier League and I am sure it is possible."
