West Brom boss Tony Mowbray insists leading scorer Diomansy Kamara will not be following Nigel Quashie out of The Hawthorns this month.Quashie was allowed to leave the Baggies and join West Ham in a £1.75million deal after expressing a desire to return to the Premiership - and there has been speculation linking Kamara with a move to Juventus. But Mowbray is adamant the Senegal international will still be at West Brom when the transfer window closes on January 31, while also battling to hold on to captain Curtis Davies.
The Albion boss said: "Diomansy has got a long contract and has never intimated any unrest. I haven't sensed any unrest. I have got no interest in letting Kamara go from West Brom because he is very integral in what our plans are to try to be successful at this club. Being the consummate professional that he is, I am sure he will honour his contract until the day we all agree that changes. He is a good professional and as good a professional as I have ever worked with. He is very focused on his football and scoring goals."
Meanwhile, Mowbray is stepping up his attempts to find a replacement for Quashie after he ended his 12-month spell at West Brom by moving to Upton Park on Monday. He is understood to have lodged a £4million bid with his former club Hibernian for Scott Brown and Kevin Thomson while Luton's Leon Barrett, who can play in defence or midfield, is another potential target. Mowbray is also battling it out with Birmingham to sign Hatters striker Rowan Vine who has been on target 14 times this season.
