Albion are looking to tie the Welsh international to a four year deal and offered the player an improved contract earlier this month.

However, Koumas, who still has three years to run on his present deal, says he is hoping for a better deal than the one currently on offer.

"It's up to the manager and the chairman, if they say what I want to hear, I'll be happy to sign a new deal," said Koumas.

""I'm concentrating on my football at the moment.

"I've been offered a new contract but the terms are not right.

"I'm confident they will come up with another offer.

"I want to play in the Premiership and I believe that will happen here. I'm confident we will go up."
