Shelton Martis (groin) and leading scorer Roman Bednar (hamstring) have both been ruled out of Sunday's trip to Manchester City (KO 3pm) due to injury.

Gianni Zuiverloon is set to travel after being passed fit after limping off at Pompey with Albion given further good news after Ishmael Miller returned to light training.

"Gianni trained but Roman and Shelton didn't - hopefully they're not too far away," said Tony Mowbray.

"Ishmael is back with the physio, out on the grass.

"For the first time in eight months he's got his boots on and is running around.

"It's important for a young boy with his first real injury to see that he can get his boots back on and side-foot the ball with the physio.

"It's nice for him to be in and around the team, who are training on the next pitch.

"Hopefully he comes back strong in pre-season because he's been a loss to us.

"Hopefully he's still got bags of goals in those boots next season.

"It was a blow to lose him because he'd just started scoring and was starting to believe he was a Premier League striker and was going to show the world how good he was.

"He's got that confidence about him and unfortunately for us, at a bad time, he got injured."
