Albion have been given an early Christmas present with the news that Ishmael Miller has been given the green light to increase his recovery from a serious knee injury.  The powerful forward is now expected to be back in first-team action in late January 2010.

Miller was expected to return from his knee ligament injury at the start of the season but was forced back under the surgeon’s knife due to complications with his initial operation.  The former Man City man has been running since October and is now set to start full training again.

"We've had some fantastic news about Ishmael Miller,” Roberto Di Matteo beamed.

He's had the green light from his surgeon to increase his training workload.

"So, we will slowly, gradually slot him into our training sessions.

"He could be available for selection in late January."
