Morrison blasts Albion 'soap opera'

Scotland international James Morrison has claimed recent antics at The Hawthorns are nothing short of a soap opera.

The Baggies have suffered an eventful last few months, culminating with controversial striker Nicolas Anelka being suspended for five games for making the ‘Quenelle’ gesture earlier in the season.

Morrison claims that despite the off-field antics Albion’s players have stuck together. But is glad to escape away for a few days on international duty with Scotland.

“There just seems to have been a lot of s**t going on, really, It does feel like a soap opera – you should try being involved in it,” he told The Scotsman newspaper.

“It’s been one thing after another at West Brom with managers changing and people getting suspended, It’s probably hassle that we didn’t need. There was even talk of the new manager going last week.

"We’d only won three games in the whole year if you look at it that way. But he (Clarke) did finish eighth last season and I do believe we might have been in a better place.

“The new manager has been good, though. I do expect to be in a fight. But we’ve been in the position before and we have a lot of players who know what it takes.”
