Championship winning boss Tony Mowbray not only got his hands on the title but also the Manager-of-the-Month gong after his efforts in getting Albion promoted were recognised by the Coca-Cola Awards panel.

Mowbray is no stranger to the award having received the accolade back in September beating Neil Warnock, Kevin Blackwell and Tony Pulis to the prize.

The Baggies' unbeaten run in April saw victories over Blackpool, Norwich, QPR and Wolves and draws against Cardiff, Watford and Southampton saw Albion claim their first championship in more than 80 years.

"The title race went right to the death and we had to play seven league games over the last month or so, plus an FA Cup semi-final at Wembley," the Albion boss said.

"But great credit to the players. They dug deep and their quality came through.

"I trusted my players and their ability to score goals and they came good in the end."
