Much of the same for Mowbray

Tony Mowbray has told his players to expect a similar type of match to last week's defeat against Hull. Plymouth are next to visit The Hawthorns on Saturday (3pm) with the Albion boss hoping the Baggies can overcome their fifth placed rivals.

Hull
snatched all three points last Saturday with the Baggies unable to break down a solid rearguard. However Mowbray is hoping his troops can use the Plymouth fixture to return to winning ways after a disappointing run of form has earned just 5 points out of a possible 18.

"We were disappointed with last week and we have to bounce back but I have great belief in the team that they will," the Baggies boss said.

"At the same time, when I study the two teams there are huge similarities between Hull and Plymouth in the way they will come and defend, be very disciplined, play with two banks of four, counter-attack, be strong on set-pieces.

"They have a very similar make-up.

"So, we know before kick-off it will be a very difficult match.

"Sat here now I'm pretty sure we'll have more of the ball and I'm pretty sure we will be attacking their goal more than they attack ours.

"I can't guarantee we'll win the match and we're very respectful of Plymouth.

"They've won four on the bounce and they'll be coming here confident but I'm pretty sure they won't play a team as positive or as technically good as our team this weekend."

The Baggies have failed to win any of their last four matches dropping from first to fourth in the process with the visitors full of confidence after four consecutive victories propelling them into the play-off places.

Despite the contrasting run of form between the two teams Mowbray senses his players are more than ready for Saturday's challenge.

"I sense a resolve, a determination - the players know we are more than capable of making this a very good season," he added.

"There is a determination to put right what happened.

"We can't guarantee a win but there won't be a lack of desire or confidence to win the game.

"The talent is there, the quality is there and we need to make sure we apply it."
