No Ba at Baggies

Demba Ba has decided against a return to the Premier League with West Brom in favour of singing a bumper contract with Shanghai Shenhua.

Club delegates travelled to Turkey last week to open negotiations with the former Chelsea, Newcastle and West Ham striker.

Albion were believed to have offered Ba a deal worth £60,000 a week but Ba has opted to double his money by joining the Chinese outfit.

Ba is the second striker Albion have missed out on so far this summer. Tony Pulis was a keen admirer of French striker Andre-Pierre Gignac but the former Marseille striker decided to sign for Mexican club Tigres UANL.

Tony Pulis is now set to turn his attentions to Queens Park Rangers winger Matt Phillips and he looks to shape his squad ahead of next season.

Winger Phillips is believed to be in talks with Albion, Sunderland and Crystal Palace after he was relegated last season with Rangers.
