Olsson ready for Wolves clash

Swedish rock Jonas Olsson claims there’s no better time to face Wolves than this weekend.

The Baggies now look odds-on to avoid relegation after Saturday’s long-awaited 2-1 victory over local rivals Aston Villa sent them to 11th in the league and eight points clear of 17th place.

But with Wolves deep in a relegation battle, Olsson had dismissed his teammates will be lacking any motivation with top flight status all but secured for another season.

"Now we're safe a derby game comes at a perfect time because there will be no problem with motivation for a game like that,” said Saturday’s captain against Villa.

"They are in the relegation zone so they need a win desperately, but if we can finish ninth or tenth I want to do it, I don't want to finish 14th or 15th.

"That's the way I see it.

"I expect a good atmosphere.

"They have loyal fans like we do and the rivalry between the teams is going to add to that atmosphere.

"We said before the game on Saturday that these are the games you want to play in and the games you remember when your career is finished - derbies and games against the big teams.

"That's why we do it and for me there will be no problems mobilising for Sunday."

"I just see it as a derby.

"We want to win every game and we want to win derbies as well.

"That's the way I see it, I don't see it too much about the opponents, I just want to get three points.

"That's the only joy for me and I don't care what position the other team are in or what they do.

"I don't get any joy from anyone else's misfortune, I just want to keep this run going and not end the season with a bitter taste."
