A furious Tony Pulis called for the introduction after watching Gareth McAuley mistakenly sent off during Albion's 3-0 defeat to champions Manchester City.

The Baggies were down to 10 men inside two minutes when Craig Dawson felled Wilfried Bony. However, referee Neil Swarbrick showed McAuley a red card.

City went on to win comfortably with goals from Bony, David Silva and Fernando.

But after the game all talk was of McAuley's bizarre dismissal.

"This Premier League product is one of the most famous products we sell. It's no good moaning about referees but we need to find a way of helping them," said Pulis.

"We need a video link up where someone can watch key decisions again and help to make decisions - we can hopefully eradicate mistakes.

"This is the greatest league in the world in terms of people watching it.

"Referees have a very difficult job and we've been on the receiving end recently.

"We have to take it on the chin and move on. We can't keep criticising them, we need to find a way of helping referees.

"We all make mistakes. Players, coaches - we all make mistakes. So why don't we help referees?"
