Pulis: First half cost us

Tony Pulis says Albion's lacklastre opening 45 minutes was to blame for their 4-0 defeat to Manchester City.

The Baggies conceded twice in each half but were much improved after the break with the hosts took the game to City.

Pulis adopted a strange three man midfield with defender Jonny Evans playing in an unfamiliar role. It wasn't until the 51st minute when James Morrison and Jonathan Leko were introduced did Albion offer some sort of threat.

"In the first half we sat back waiting for it to happen," said Pulis.

"In the second half we gave it a go but needed to score. As the game opens up they have real quality on the break.

"I'm disappointed with all the goals. We should do better.

You look at the money they have spent and their quality and depth is absolutely frightening."
