The Baggies end of season slump continued as they were unable to stop Chelsea from being crowned champions after another 1-0 home defeat.

The visitors sealed the title with a goal 8 minutes from time as Albion suffered their fourth home defeat on the spin.

Salomon Rondon and Nacer Chadli both had good chances to put Albion ahead before the visitors struck.

"We just wanted to make it a tough night,” said the Head Coach.

“We didn’t want them coming into town and just rolling us over.

“The players worked very, very hard and we’re disappointed.

“When you’re playing the top team - and they’re the best team in the land this year, and they’ve proved that over a season - you don’t need them getting that little slice of luck, we needed the luck to go our way and the goal is obviously a disappointment for us, but full credit to the players.

“The atmosphere, the crowds, everything - it was a proper game. A proper match."
