Pulis: We let ourselves down

Tony Pulis had mixed emotions after Albion's forgettable 0-0 stalemate with West Ham.

On a day that both teams cancelled each other out but failed to create any clear-cut chances Pulis said he was happy with Albion's defending but wanted improvements at the other end of the field.

James Morrison missed Albion's best chance of the game when he headed wide from six yards out. And Pulis admitted his side need to do more in the final-third after netting only two home goals in seven games.

"It was a tough game today," he said.

“There’s no easy games in the Premier League and we had to work really hard for everything.

“They’ve got some really good players and some really big players.

“Andy Carroll is a beast of a player and to come out with a clean sheet is first class.

“We have to do better in the final third though.

“We played well up to the edge of the box but we just let ourselves down with our final pass.”
