Albion continued their good form against Stoke City thanks to Salomon Rondon's injury time header.

Rondon glanced home Jonathan Leko's excellent corner to cancel out Joe Allen's second half strike.

Express and Star

After the rare excitement of last weekend's six-goal thriller, Albion fans were forced to wait until injury time today before seeing anything so exhillarating. A hotly-contested, tight game between his current club and former employers was perhaps the most fitting way to mark Tony Pulis's 1,000th game.

Just when it seemed as though the manager's milestone match would end in defeat, up popped Rondon to the rescue.

It was not the win he would have wanted beforehand, but was certainly a result he would have taken as the game ticked into stoppage time.

Say what you want about how he sets up teams, but he sure knows how to get results.

The Independent

Salomon Rondon's stoppage-time header denied Stoke their first Premier League win of the season as they were held to a 1-1 home draw by West Brom in ex-Potters boss Tony Pulis' 1,000th game as a manager.

Mark Hughes' side had looked set to end their four-match losing streak in the league by claiming all three points when Joe Allen opened the scoring by bundling the ball home in the 73rd minute.

But in the end they had to settle for one, and a total of two from six games this term, after Rondon converted late on from a corner.

Telegraph

Salomon Rondon’s equaliser in added time ensured a memorable end to a landmark day for his manager, inflicting more frustration on Pulis’s former club as the wait goes on for Stoke’s first Premier League win of the season.

Pulis has joined the exclusive list of managers to pass 1,000 games in the dug-out and for long periods it was a trademark away performance from his team, built on defensive resilience and stifling tactics.

And Rondon’s deft header at the death will do little to alleviate the growing pressure on Stoke manager, Mark Hughes, who endured chants of “you’re getting sacked in the morning,” from the jubilant West Brom supporters as he trudged towards the tunnel after the final whistle.
