Record signing Brown Ideye will begin his career with the Baggies later this week after being granted a visa.

Albion signed Ideye from Dynamo Kyiv in a deal which could rise to as much as £10m in the middle of July.

But the Nigerian international has been stuck in his homeland waiting for a working visa to be issued leaving him unable to arrive in England.

Ideye’s visa was delayed by a week due to the religious festival Eid, but the 25-year-old received clearance this afternoon.

The powerful striker announced on his Twitter that his visa had been issued this afternoon and will now head to The Hawthorns as soon as possible to begin training with his new teammates.

It’s now expected that Ideye will be make his debut against Porto on Saturday in Albion’s final pre-season friendly.
