Roberts, who signed for Albion from Bristol Rovers for £2.1 million in 2000, is interesting both Charlton and Tottenham according to media reports.

"Jason would like to stay in the Premier League if he was to get an offer from the right team. He got the taste for it this season and he has got ambitions to stay there. It would all depend on the two clubs and what they want to do," said Smith.

"If an interesting offer came along he would entertain it like any player. He is an ambitious player and he wants to continue his education himself in the top flight.

"Jason knows the situation at West Brom with their relegation to Division One and he accepts he must try to get them back up.

"He is loyal to the cause but he will want to have assurances from West Brom what their plans are for next season and if they will have any money to spend.

"It is flattering to be linked with a bigger club but he does not want to rock the boat."
