"Kieran has come in for the rest of the season but I've told him he is not guaranteed a place," said the Baggies boss.
"He'll have to work to get into the side."
Robson also confirmed that the Baggies are still trying to prize Burnley midfielder Richard Chaplow to the Hawthorns before the transfer window closes on Monday evening.
The baggies have already had two bids rejected by the Championship side but Robson said that a third bid has now been lodged.
"We've made a third bid and are waiting for a response from Burnley," he said.
