Second half showing pleases Megson

Rob Hulse's second half strike gave the Baggies all three points and sent them to the top of the Nationwide First Division table.

"We didn't get out of second gear in the first half, we played static football without any cohesion and consequently, we didn't create a lot," said Megson.

"We were giving away silly free-kicks and not moving up and down the pitch.

"But in the second half we did better, did more when we were in possession and in the end we were thankful for Rob's goal.

"Rob Hulse has got a good goalscoring record and he's hooked the ball over his shoulder for a goal we needed.

"But I still don't think we're looking particularly fluid at the moment and although our passing at times was decent, for most of the time it wasn't good enough.

"But we had a back three who were playing there first game together, Bernt Haas is new to the club, James O'Connor is new to the club and so are Artim Sakiri and Rob.

"So we've got new players who are trying to get into the way we play and you need time for that to happen.

"But in football you don't get any time so if you can get results in the meantime, like we've been doing, then it's got to be all well and good."
