West Brom midfielder Robert Koren is set to miss the start of the new Championship campaign after suffering an eye injury in training. Koren, who has impressed during the pre-season build-up, is set to be sidelined for a minimum of two weeks after being struck in the face by a ball. It means he will be unavailable for the opening game of the campaign with Burnley at Turf Moor.

Baggies boss Tony Mowbray confirmed: "Robert Koren will be a loss to us. He has an eye injury and it's going to take at least a couple of weeks, maybe a bit longer, to get it right. It's frustrating for us because it was a training ground incident. The ball hit him in the face, caught the eyeball and it's caused a bit of bleeding at the back of the eye. He's got to rest if for a couple of weeks and he will miss the start of the season. It's disappointing because he's been one of our better and most influential players."

John Hartson is still short of general fitness while Richard Chaplow has a bruised ankle.
