There's Only One Simon Garner

You remember Simon Garner, famous for fags, booze and jail? Oh, and helping us win promotion under Ossie Ardiles in our most attack-minded line-up of recent times?

Making light work of Burnley's defence

Well now his exploits have been compiled into a nicely finished blue and white book. It’s broken records for publishers the Parrs Wood Press, who had to reprint even before the release date, and even made top spot in Amazon’s pre-order charts.

Simon Garner himself has been signing copies, and even broke the signing-session record for Blackburn’s WH Smiths when he scribbled his name on 370 books. I’m not exactly sure how those records work, but it means it was officially lots better than that time Alan Shearer stopped by.

Despite making his name at the East Lancashire club, spells at West Brom, Wycombe and then Torquay have seen the forward become a fan’s favourite up and down the country. To read about his affectionate recollections of Ossie Ardiles, Burkinshaw and earning praise from the Baggies faithful, take a peek at the great man’s web site.
