Tired legs run out of steam.

Tony Mowbray believes that Albion's "poorest display for a long time" against Crystal Palace was largely to do with the Baggies recent fixture pile-up. A hard fought derby fixture against Staffordshire's finest, a tricky yet fine win at Home Park and then a draw against a resurgent Palace side saw Mowbray's men take to the field for the third time in six days.

After taking the lead through Mark Hudson's own goal the Baggies failed to captilise on the advantage with ex-Blues striker, Clinton Morrison finding himself free to equalise after 21 minutes. Despite Albion having the majority of possesion and Roman Bednar rattling the crossbar, Mowbray was far from impressed.

"My ultimate feeling today is that we didn't perform. You set your own standards and we fell below them today.

"It's too early to think about other teams and we can't affect their results.

"My disappointment is with my team that never really got going on Saturday. That was the poorest we've been for a long time."

Mowbray will hope his team once again find their home form with the visit of Coventry City tomorrow night (KO 19.45).
