Transfer door revolving at The Hawthorns

Roy Hodgson continues to mould his Albion squad after Hungarian international goalkeeper Marton Fulop joined from Ipswich Town and Ishmael Miller looks set to depart.

Fulop has signed a one-year deal from the Championship outfit and will provide competition to Ben Foster for the Albion No.1 shirt.

Former Manchester City man Miller also looks set to end his four-year stay at The Hawthorns after the Baggies accepted an offer from Nottingham Forest.

Baggies boss Hodgson says he’s happy to address Albion’s goalkeeping concerns so quickly after Boaz Myhill departed for Blues on a season-long loan.

"Like last year, we've now got two goalkeepers with lots of Premier League experience who are both very capable of playing in the top flight and helping us to win matches,” said the former Fulham and Liverpool boss.

"I'm really pleased the deal for Marton has gone through so quickly so that we have both keepers in place for the opening game of the season."

He added that Miller will head to the East Midlands on Monday for a medical ahead of a move to The City Ground.

"He's got a medical there tomorrow and he's going to meet up with Steve McClaren,” Hodgson added.

"We think Ishmael is a very useful player but a player who has spent a lot of the last two or three years as a bit part player as a substitute.

"I think he is at the age where he needs to be a No.1 player, one of the first names on the team-sheet - not a guy who hangs around and gets 20 minutes every now and again.

"We'll wish him well if he leaves, which would be on a permanent basis.

"In some ways, we'll miss him, of course.

"But it would be selfish of us to nail his feet to the ground here when I can't offer him one of two places in the starting line-up on a regular basis."
